Welcome to Class 6
Class 6 Newsletter September 2017
Dear Parent/Carer,
Welcome back after the Summer break—it does seem a long time ago already!
PE kit: Class 6 will need Outdoor PE kit on Monday and Thursday this half term. Please remember to label all kit clearly with your child’s name. If your child cannot do PE for any reason, please send a note or phone the school office. If your child forgets their kit we have some spare kit . We cannot take a child’s word if they say they can’t do PE: we will simply lend them kit and ask them to join in unless they have permission to miss it from you. PE kit should be in a drawstring bag please, as rucksacks take up too much room in the crate in the classroom. There should be no bags in the cloakroom. Earrings must be removed or covered with micropore tape, which you need to provide.
For your information:
On Tuesday mornings and Friday afternoons, the class will be taught by Miss Finlay. This is so I can fulfil my duties in my role as assistant head.
Reading
Maths
We will be continuing to learn our multiplication tables, including the 12x tables. Children will be regularly tested and challenged to improve. If your child is not yet thoroughly familiar with all the tables facts, please help them by practising them. Sing them on the way home if it helps!
Topic
We are studying Sound and Light in Science.
Spellings
We will send home spellings on a Friday to learn for a test on the following Monday. Please practise them with your child. We will also send homework on a Friday to be handed in the following Tuesday.
Thank you for your valuable support, Mrs Vignes
